It features sophisticated fault detection and LED indication of operation to warn the user of faults including over-voltage, voltage drop and excessive current draw conditions. It is better than a diode battery isolator due to the voltage drop associated with diode type isolation. The Smart Start SBI12D incorporates electronic components that will prevent the solenoid from generating high voltage transients. This is useful to top up the start battery. The SBI12D also allows the start battery to be charged by the external source once the auxiliary battery reaches 13.2 volts. The dual sensing model is used to isolate the start and auxiliary batteries in a system where the auxiliary battery may also be charged by an external source such as Solar panels or an external AC battery charger. The SBI12D provides 12 volt DC incorporating 100A of continuous ratings. It is designed to be used in dual battery systems as a solenoid priority system to protect the start battery from excessive discharge. Combining the CCPs is commonly done here, and if you're digging into the battery box now would be a good time to do that if you so choose. If the isolator is good for 140A (and check if this is a continuous or peak rating, I suspect the latter), it should be on a circuit that can supply at least that. If you've taken the seat off and have the battery box open then you can test the continuity of the fuse directly. If it's 0V or close, you've almost certainly blown the fuse. With your isolator disconnected, measure the voltage between ground (either the battery negative or any bare metal directly connected to the vehicle frame - door latch/catch is a good candidate here) and the CCP you used.
